PPTA Welcomes Anita Brikman as New Chief Executive Officer +

Annapolis, MD (March 22, 2023) -- The Global Executive Board of Directors of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anita Brikman as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association. Register now for the International Plasma Protein Congress (IPPC) 2023 +

PPTA is proud to announce that registration is now open for the 2023 International Plasma Protein Congress (IPPC) to be held 20-21 June in Lisbon, Portugal.

Registration for the International Plasma Protein Congress (IPPC) includes access to all general sessions, all refreshments, exhibit hall, the Welcome Reception on 19 June, and the Networking Dinner on 20 June (you must be registered for the IPPC in order to attend the reception and dinner). Individuals not registered for the IPPC will be given the opportunity to register on-site or will not be granted access to these events.

Brussels Times Event Held in European Parliament +

On March 6, PPTA supported an excellent and highly successful event at the European Parliament, hosted by the #BrusselsTimes, which explored how the EU #SoHO Regulation might become a framework to encourage Member States to collect more #plasma ! The aim is to achieve strategic autonomy, benefit #donors , and improve access to lifesaving plasma-derived therapies #PDMPs for #raredisease patients.

PPTA Statement on Report of ENVI Rapporteur for the SoHO Regulation +

The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) welcomes the call in the draft report on the European Commission's proposal for a Regulation on the Standards of quality and safety for substances of human origin (SoHO) by European Parliament rapporteur MEP Nathalie Colin-Oesterlé to reach higher strategic autonomy for plasma supply for the manufacturing of plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs). However, we believe that several of the proposals will likely have a contrary effect to that goal. They could place at serious risk patient access to life-saving therapies and potentially jeopardise existing plasma collection models that are proven to be safe and effective.
