Patients and caregivers who rely on plasma-derived medicines know how important these medicines are, but how much do patients know where these lifesaving therapies come from, and how do they view the plasma donors who help make them possible? How soon after starting medicines do providers notice an improvement in their patients’ health? These are just a few questions a new survey is trying to answer.
The global plasma community (patients, caregivers, and providers) are invited to participate in a new global survey focused on awareness of plasma-derived medicines and plasma donation.
Why This Survey Matters
Millions of people worldwide depend on lifesaving plasma-derived medicines to treat rare, chronic, and serious conditions. And countless individuals globally also need plasma-derived therapies in emergency or everyday medical situations.
These unique treatments are made possible through the generosity of plasma donors, whose donations are essential to the production of lifesaving and life-sustaining treatments.
This survey will help illuminate:
- How aware patients are of where plasma-derived medicines come from
- Perceptions of plasma donors and plasma donation
- Where there may be opportunities to strengthen patient and provider education and awareness
By gathering these insights directly from the plasma community, we can help inform future advocacy, education, and awareness efforts that better reflect patient understanding and experiences.

Patients, caregivers, and medical professionals bring a unique and valuable perspective that only they can provide.
