What we do

We work globally to advocate for patient access to plasma-derived medicines, responsibly improve the availability of plasma, and advance the understanding of the plasma ecosystem.

Our association administers standards programs that help to ensure the quality and safety of plasma collection and manufacturing, as well as protect both donors and patients.

MEMbership Categories & Criteria

There are four different types of PPTA memberships: Global, Regional, Source, and Associate. Membership eligibility is based on specific criteria and provides various benefits.

Global Membership

Global membership is available to firms or groups of businesses engaged in the manufacture, marketing, or contract fractionation of plasma protein therapies in more than one country.

Requirements: 

  • Licensed by a competent regulatory authority in the country of manufacture.

  • · Use plasma obtained only from IQPP-certified collection facilities.

  • Must obtain letters of recommendation from Global Executive Board members.


Benefits:

  • Automatic seat on the PPTA Global Executive Board of Directors

  • Access to all committee activities.

  • Member rates on programs, advertising, exhibits, and meeting registrations.

Regional Membership (Europe or North America)

Regional Membership (i.e., Europe, North America) is available and limited to firms or groups of businesses engaged in the manufacture, marketing, or contract fractionation of plasma protein therapies in one country.

Requirements:

  • Licensed by a competent regulatory authority in the country of manufacture.

  • Use plasma obtained only from IQPP-certified collection facilities.

  • Must obtain letters of recommendation from two members of the respective PPTA Regional Board of Directors.


Benefits:

  • Division Board Seat.      

  • Access to global and division committee activities.

  • Member rates on programs, advertising, exhibits, and meeting registrations. 

Plasma Membership

Plasma Membership is available to organizations engaged in the collection of source plasma for further manufacture.

Requirements:

  • At least one plasma collection facility licensed by the corresponding competent regulatory authority.

  • Must obtain letters of recommendation from two members of the respective PPTA Global Plasma Board of Directors.


Benefits:

  • Access to Plasma Committee activities and European Plasma Alliance (for European members).

  • Member rates on IQPP/NDDR/CDCS programs, advertising, exhibits, and meeting registrations.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is available to organizations providing products and services to manufacturers or collectors.

Levels:

  • Level 1: Consultants,market research, product distributors, and similar organizations.

  • Level 2: Providers of fractionation, collection supplies,logistics service, laboratory services, and similar organzations.

  • Level 3: Manufacturers or providers of collection devices, fractionation equipment, diagnostic test kits, and similar organizations.


Requirements:

  • Must obtain letters of recommendation from two members of the relevant Board of Directors.


Benefits:

  • Member rates on advertising, exhibits, and meeting registrations,

  • Specific exhibit discounts for Associate 2 & 3 members

Membership APPLICATION PROCESS

  • 1. Review Membership Criteria: Ensure your organization meets the criteria listed above.

  • 2. Complete the Application: Fill out the membership application form and submit it along with required documentation and letters of recommendation.
    3. Board Review: The relevant Board will review your application, and an approval decision will be communicated.
    4. Finalization: Upon approval and payment of dues, your membership will be finalized.
