International Plasma Awareness Week 2026 Begins Today: Celebrate the Power of Plasma

October 5, 2026

‍

International Plasma Awareness Week Is Here
‍

Today marks the beginning of International Plasma Awareness Week (IPAW) 2026, a global opportunity to raise awareness of plasma-derived medicines, recognize the importance of plasma donation, and celebrate the patients, donors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and communities that make the plasma ecosystem possible.
‍

This year's theme, “Plasma Powers Possibility,” reflects the connection between every plasma donation and the possibilities it can help create for patients who rely on plasma-derived medicines.
‍

Throughout IPAW, taking place October 5–9, you can help share that message.
‍

Thank a Plasma Donor

At the heart of every plasma-derived medicine is a plasma donation.
‍

Plasma donors generously give their time to help others, often without ever knowing whose life their donation may ultimately impact. Their contributions are an essential starting point of the complex journey in which plasma becomes medicines for patients around the world.
‍

This IPAW, Thank Plasma Donors
‍

A simple message of appreciation can help recognize the generosity of donors and remind others why plasma donation matters. Use the hashtag #IPAW2026 and #PlasmaPowersPossibility when sharing your thank you on social media for a chance to be reposted by PPTA.
‍

Help Raise Awareness

Share What “Plasma Powers Possibility” Means to You

One of the most powerful ways to raise awareness is through personal stories.

Patients and caregivers can share their experiences with plasma-derived medicines. Donors can share why they give. Healthcare professionals and others in the plasma community can share what plasma means to them.

Every story helps demonstrate that behind every donation and every medicine are real people.

If you have a story to share,
submit it as part of this year's IPAW campaign. Your story may be shared around the world!
